And the sea shall turn to blood
Those who believe there should be no regulation of business by government are to blame for this mess. The failed policies of libertarianism. Folks, government has a job to do in protecting our common environment. They failed. Vote for politicians who support strong protection for the environment. It's the only way to avert future disasters like this.
You are absolutely correct sir. Also, to Mrs. Palin….praying for the spill to end isn't going to work, where was your god when this happened?
You expect God (yes capital G) to keep everything nicey nice for us when we're all running around sinning? Who are you to chastise Him?
I can't chastise something that doesn't exist.
completely agree.
It's because BP has a stranglehold on our government, we should have enlisted independent contractors after BP failed to fix this the first COUPLE of times. Remember it was the GOP who apologized to BP for government interference.
Lets see, since it's far cheaper to drill on land maybe that's the solution – oh wait, never mind, the government comprised of GOP and Dem's locked up all the land so they couldn't do that.
Yet another Fox News propagated lie, and a hilarious presentation of one at that. What you are arguing is that you would prefer that a gigantic oil spill would have been better on land. Brilliant. However, the motivation of deepwater drilling according to the oil companies is that the oil near the shore is running out but that the oil available in the deepwater region in question is abundant. If the oil companies are drilling in deep water because they think there is more profit in that than on land, who are you or Fox News to say that they are doing it because their hands are tied?
All of this damage and just a few boats out there to clean it? What is going on? This brought me to tears. For real. This truly seems like we are in our last days.
"… and a third of the sea turns to blood". That was written how many years ago?
Where does it end? A 6 month stall on future drilling is all they are doing so far?
With the OIL giants waiting in the wings to begin NEW drilling?
Aren't our politicians and BP as well, concerned for their OWN children's futures?
This is SICK.
AND THANK YOU TO THE MAN WHO VIDEOTAPED THIS!!! ♥
"All of this damage and just a few boats out there to clean it? What is going on?"
Good question, ask Obama. Obama has refused to allow any of the 30 countries that have offered aid to assist. Some of these countries have the most advanced tools available to help contain this disaster. The Dutch offered skimming vessels and containment booms on day 3, but the Obama said "Thanks, but no thanks." The problem would have been immensely easier to contain if the effort would have began months ago. Even now, when someone takes action to protect their shoreline, they are halted with a labyrinth of bureaucracy.
After being directed by the administration to refuse foreign aid, the state department reassured us that "While there is no need right now that the U.S. cannot meet, the U.S. Coast Guard is assessing these offers of assistance to see if there will be something which we will need in the near future." Clearly, there is ample need that the US cannot meet.
I guess Obama thinks we don't need a legitimate cleanup and containment effort, just cap and trade.
What a joke.
you're clueless. obama cannot request assistance as the government has no control of this situation, ONLY BP
You cry, and pray for America's guardian angel….every time you cry and pray for an angel, it heals that angel. America's Guardian Angel has a broken wing right now and needs all the healing she can get.
I myself was expecting a video… all I got was a video of pictures… Definitely not a videotape…
Remember the Republican convention and politician after politician that got up there and said drill baby drill. So don't even mention President Obama's name when you talk about this disaster. The States of Texas and Louisiana long ago sold their souls to Big Oil and stripped their states of any environmental regulations. People in Louisiana can't even sue the Oil Companies because the state wrote laws that said they can't sue for polluting thier drinking water, or land. They are reaping the seeds that were sown during the Bush Administration.
Bush is gone ya retard.
So Obama is untouchable in this? The Germans felt that way about Hitler for a while too. Be careful who you worship.
And Obama was the single largest recipient of campaign contributions from BP. The spill is BP's fault, though the federal government is partially responsible for a lack of oversight- both during the Bush administration AND this one.
The fact that the containment effort has been hampered at every turn by red tape, and Obama's arrogant (or foolish, take your pick) refusal to allow foreign assistance, is his fault alone. You can't blame Bush for Obama's poor decisions and inaction. Only now, 70 DAYS into the spill, is he finally hinting at allowing foreign aid. It's a little late.
I doubt he gives a damn about the magnitude of the impact. After all, these aren't states full of limousine liberals. The worse the damage gets, the easier it will be to cram through cap and tax.
Jeff…our Energy Policy crafted by Bush and Cheney..(hey weren't they up their visiting Sarah)..has lots more surprises for us… energy companies exempt from regs about clean air and water…that is why peoples' drinking water is able to catch fire in PA… natural gas drilling…the new improved method… oh boy… if we don't demand new energy regs that at minimal repeal all the crap done behind closed doors…lots more people in lots more places are going to experience serious disasters.. I support Obama. First guy at the top to mention our Planet in a long time! Geez what morons…who cares about the price of gas if you can't breath the air, drink the water, or eat anything grown out of the earth? ..it really won't matter…you won't be alive to care about the price of gas!!! Wake up Sheeple!
I'd agree with you Jeff– but these choices are not only coming back to haunt the Texans and folks in Louisiana. These choices are killing pods of dolphins and burning the backs off of whales.
We– humans– deserve to reap what we've sown. But we're taking every living thing along with us into hell.
*That's* the injustice.
Enough! Someone has to take responsibility for this. It's the biggest crime in history.
everyone has to take responsibility for this because everyone let a company mess things up like that – blaming it on them or anyone else in particular won't solve anything. "guilt" won't keep any criminal from destroying earth anyway.
our own greed caused this. the greed of a company is just the extension of our own greed.
I want the goverment to WAKE UP! It is PAST time to act. We MUST PRESERVE our enviroment our wildlife our jobs!! Goverment push BP towards compliance. Stop off-shore oil drilling! My thanks to the couragous people who complied and filed this story.
GOD? This is cultivated Government stupidity and Macho Man style arrogance by rejecting the help from other countries before matters worsened. Now, the US accepts help after the damages have further escalated. I will never see this shore clean ever again in my lifetime! COMPLACENCY AND PRAYING AIN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING.Get out there and do something!!! AMERICANS NEED TANGIBILITY AND SET ASIDE THEIR PIPE DREAMS!!! WAKE UP!
BP is a British company you twat, do some research before you jump on the anti American bandwagon. We Americans have done a lot of things wrong but this is not one of them.
Just because BP is British doesn't mean you're not at fault. It's the entire west's addiction to oil that has got us into this mess.
You could not have said it any better.
Of course he could have. He could have told the truth. Stop accepting pundit opinions as facts. Quite often, pundits are misinformed.
You mean the help of the countries that are ALREADY HELPING? This would be well said if it were TRUE. It's a bold-faced lie. There are 15 countries already helping and help has been turned away from 1 country. Stop watching Fox News and read ANY reputable news source. Fox News is the only "news" source reporting that as information because it's a lie.
Stop reciting nonsense as fact and do some research: http://www.factcheck.org/2010/06/oil-spill-foreig…
This is all very sad, but I wonder how much oil he used to fly his plane over this sight to document this video…….It's a very big problem and we need solutions, not hate and blame….I don't want to live without petroleum…do you?
I don't want to live without the easy way to commute…that does not mean it has to be petroleum… for example…nano solar cell paint conversion kits will be hitting the market for electric cars at about $250.00… you can spray paint your electric car and have mostly free fuel…thank you Australia and thank goodness the oil industry didn't think there was much reason to pay attention to what you were up to… Don't sell us short as a people, or a nation… necessity is the motherhood of invention… maybe we understand the necessity enough now to invent an alternative.. can't wait to paint my roof with this stuff!!!
what a numnutz. He is making claims that show he knows nothing about oil technology. He's a run of the mill libtard, just with a hick-ass redneck accent.
Obviously at the moment NOBODY knows anything about oil technology or this wouldn't be happening now would it? ^^
"run of the mill libtard", or someone that actually cares about the state of our planet, and not just how much money is in his bank account?
fuck you oil man!
check this site out – also on facebook – http://www.waxforpollution.com
BP, and all the redneck drill baby drill crowd is manifesting the hell their paranoia and hate drive them too.
@Bob- here is the network you need to stop your sinning that the rest of us have to put up with- http://creationcare.org/ Now git!
Thank you for doing this. Puts it in a perspective that is not otherwise available.
Seems like BP and the mystery government is doing another hedge against BP, if you ask me. When 911 happened, a small group of investors made a great deal of money when the airline stocks went down. Why? They planned this event to make billions of money hedging against the airline companies, AND if we look closer, this is MOST LIKELY not an accident, but another profit-taking-crime. They put Martha Stewart in jail for a far lesser crime, and yet they continue to run a company…and BP, Exxon, and any/all oil companies are tied into the richest and most elite group of secret governement. Time to reveal who they are and stop this insanity. Cheney knows them all. So does Obama. So did Clinton, they own all the presidents. let's wake up!
but it isn't mandatory for relief wells to be pre-drilled?
Yes, this is a terrible thing to happen to all of these animals, but I was suprised to hear the end of this video. Was that supposed to be God talking about His creation? No matter what it was suppose to be, how do we react to these poor dolphins and birds and not react to, investigate, or show pictures of all the aborted HUMANS (some at 9 months gestation!!) in our world!! Quit pretending that you are caring people when most won't say one word about the murder of live humans that is happening every day. And don't say it's not a baby. If you left it alone, in a few months you have a fully developed human. I am outraged not by the oil spill, but by the obvious overemphasis of caring for the dolphins and pelicans more than our human babies. It's unbelievable!!
I agree with you about the abortion of babies being murder and too many people just turn their head to it. But right now the crisis is in the Gulf…that is what this video was about. We were given charge over the animals by God…He created them and gave us the job of taking care of them. Look what we've done with that….it's absolutely horrible! I am soooo very sad that the pelicans and the dolphins and the whales and all the other animals are dieing…but I'm also outraged that the chemicals used, the burning of the crude oil and methane gas, and the crude oil itself are going to have a lasting affect on humans in the Gulf.
This is a disaster of unsurmountalbe proportions….the future for the people here in the Gulf is cancer, health issues, death to the waters, death to the marine life, death to the birds, death to their jobs, and yes, death to their children. We probably have no idea the end result of the chemicals that are now at such high levels in the air around the coast on us and on our children. There's no Apathy here. I will go out and help clean up…but you know what? BP probably won't give me a protection suit to sear or a respiratory mask …. so I'll end up with cancer …. THIS WHOLE THING is criminal. BP needs to be tried for criminal actions against the Gulf and the People and the Wildlife!!
Lisa,
You are being close-minded yourself. Abortion is a completely different issue, and there are plenty who share your views. This has no place here. YOU cannot truly be a caring person if you can so easily turn a deaf ear to the suffering of these fellow living creatures — especially since it is suffering by OUR hands when we are supposed to be the guardians of this Earth and ALL in it, human and nonhuman.
yea thats what im talking about!
Oh … this is sooo tragic!! Our Gulf waters are destroyed by the greed of one company. What have we done to allow offshore drilling? This is absolutely awful! NO MORE DRILLING! BP drill a relief well…NO WAY – they'll end up destroying the entire world. They are not responsible enough to be trusted to do any more drilling! This video brought me to tears..already our beaches in Destin are becoming covered in oil let alone what it's doing to the marshlands in Louisiana. There is no excuse for this madness. All those poor innocent animals suffering like this all due to man's greed. I'm horrified and can't stop the tears… sad sad day for the world!!
BTW….when did BP get control of the air space above the Gulf?
Anyone knows the name of the song at the end.
Honestly, do you want to fight about politics when our earth is being distroyed? Reality Check.
Just want to let people know that now is the time to build your food pantry and have extra water on hand as there will be many disasters coming now from this. Like acid rain that will kill crops. Start stocking up for the safety of your families. Better to be prepared than not.
Honestly, who has words for this? Thank you for bringing a piece of the truth forward. I am sure that countless people want to step in and make a difference. It's long past time to do what is necessary to preserve our Planet and all its inhabitants.
Again, it seems that things are only tragic when they happen to America. This is a big and atrocious spill but others just don't count if they happen in the Middle East or Africa, right?
We use the oil we are responsible. If we are willing to change we can change the world and not otherwise.
The only sensible comment among all these "oh-dear-look-what-they-dun-to-our-poor-little-america".
Last Friday the Senate in the US blocked giving powers of subpoena to the oil spill investigators….
http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/890.html
Anyone care to respond to the government over there?
With hydrogen cars and nuclear power, this all could have been avoided.
It's understandable that mankind did this, but realistically, the volcano that happened a couple of months back caused more damage.
It's paranoia that continues to scare people away from obviously cleaner and just-as-powerful forms of energy.
I hope you aren't teaching your kids this kind of nonsense.
This is what happens when safety regulations are cut and deregulated for the sake of saving money. Keep in mind that it was the previous administration who lowered safety regulation on oil rigs to build the one that screwed up. This is not just BP's fault this is an entire mentality that must be addressed.
Businesses need to be accountable to their employees and learn not to cut corners to save money or else there is no "plan b" or safety switch…and this is what happens.
It didn't have to be this way. The Dutch KNOW what to do and have massive equipment waiting and ready … but our President won't let them (waive the act), and the Democratic Congress won't change to the law to permit it. Instead, they are all focused on maximizing their political capital for the green machine and payback to union bosses. Then there's the dispersant… There are other, less harmful ones, but look who benefits financially from the one chosen? And that's certainly not the Dutch or Saudi solution to these things… The handling of this disaster has een criminal (literally) by multiple parties… WHY is the proffered help not accepted????
Thank You for "Breaking BP's Laws" and getting this information to everyone. living in Pennsylvania and hearing about this catastrophe on the news has no impact on people around here who have never visited the Gulf. My heart weeps for all involved and realizing that nothing is being done. Someone has to fix this….
Please listen to the archives at abeldanger (dot) net (archive button underneath the banner) to learn who is behind all of this and also who is behind all the terror attacks. This will give us the information necessary to know who to hold responsible. You will find it is not like we have been told on the propaganda media.
Please listen to as many as you can. June 23 and 30 talk of this disaster… Tomorrow 7-7 is another 3 hour show. It is mind boggling and amazing, yet it all fits. Names are named. It is a very difficult thing to listen to … it is the epitome of pure evil. Time for us to face it and remove it.
stupid nature. it's just a bit of oil.
Not BP law. OBama's laws. Welcome to the future of America, Arrggg
Thanks! Exactly my thoughts. What do they mean "man defies BP laws…." Since when is BP in the buisiness of making laws concerning American airspace. The anointed one just doesn't want people to realize how he is not doing enough. And by the way, the man doesn't govern anymore anyways, he just sues.
Great video, but the alarmist commentary and speculation from the narrator are over the top.
Just stick to the facts – injecting drama into something so serious just turns off potential supporters.
Seems that shock and drama are the only things that get through to Americans anymore. This was mild compared to what they SHOULD see.
I agree. An alarmist commentary will do little to remedy anything. Now that the dragon is out of it's cave, focus must be placed on a REAL containment / cleanup solution, and when that's done, an entire overhaul of gov't policies is obviously needed, with NO more drilling until these new guidlines and policies are implemented. It seems as if the whole reality of it all is ass-backwards, in that there should be an emergency contingency plan in effect BEFORE drilling can even begin, and not vice-versa. (That's what we must do here in Canada) If responsible parties are held personally responsible (not an appointed fall-guy) then due dilligence may take on a new meaning for those who make poor decisions, would it not? No more hiding behind the corporate saftey blanket. Bill
Effects of Brazilian oil spill on Guanabara Bay 10 YEARS LATER!! Very sad. http://blogs.aljazeera.net/americas/2010/07/07/ef…
i cried
Our beloved government and their sad little crisis….This is why we don't allow fucking non-known idiots run our country. For all you Obama supports, face it he sucks. BP should be doing a better job to support the clean up, but it is OUR responsibility as a country to accept all the help we can. Many people have come forward on promoting ideas to clean up the spill, hell 3 days into the spill, the Danish government wanted to send 13 ships to suck the oil up, it was refused by the president. I honestly don't know anymore more with country but god help us all.
To the guy who shot the video, if BP tries to sue you or take "legal actions" on you, a counter sue can easily be won, and good footage you should keep it coming.
Typo meant the Dutch, not Danish.
You have hit the proverbial nail on the head. This is a wake up call for us to insist that our path forward be one with alternative energy as our primary focus. The 20th century saw the rise of petroleum as the cheap energy source. The damage we've done to out planet in the process may be irreversible. Solar, wind, geo-thermal, we simply must find a cleaner way to exist, or we'll trash this planet and have to go look for another one to inhabit. How do you think we ended up on this one………………….
You know what, if this happened to be some sort of terrorist issue, it would have been settled by now!, just shows how the governments priorities change!
Bp should be made to be responsible for the payment of clean up effort. Military technology should have been involved a long time ago, it becomes federal responsibility when something develops into a catastrophe. Any private property that touches in any of the surrounding states, should sue. Although because of the of the bureaucracies of the system I'm sure they won't get anywhere. The water and any coastal business down in the region has no economy whatsoever, probably for the next ten to fifteen years. I'm sure the fat cats are freaking out because so many investors and the government has their fingers deep in the production of oil. Will they be tried for ecocide?
everything is money scheme.. The intricate web All the companies and people with power, money and titles who are so fearful of having it change or ripped away from them have created will only continue to effectively run if drastic changes are not made.
If you are aware that Barack Obama is not a Natural Born U.S. Citizen, yet you challenge his policies, in effect you are saying that his presidency is legitimate. If he is not a Natural Born U.S. Citizen (already proven not to be), then his presidency is illegitimate. Any bill that he signs or order that he gives is illegitimate. It is seditious to imply that you respect his right to sign any bill into law, or issue any Executive or Military order as Commander in Chief, when you know he has no right to be in the office.
Phew thanks for this, it's not as bad as I expected.
The entire spill are could have been contained had Obama waved the Jones Act instead of pandering to his union loyalists.
bp sucks
as tesla said many years ago, Our ways of energy are not efficient or renewable
While it really sucks for the economy of the gulf coast, quite simply…IF YOU WANT TO MAKE AN OMELETTE YOU ARE GOING TO BREAK A FEW EGGS… it's the reality of energy exploration…. there are plenty of trees in CA for all you whiny tree huggers…. do the world a favor and get over it and move on stuff happens…
terrifying…
Why din't you start from yourslef and use a public transportation, for intance? Just once in a while?
Это конец нах…
Immense потребительство the USA has led to this ecological accident. These are the USA it is guilty. To guzzle it is necessary less. Have grown fat too. It is time and grow thin.
