Interviewers are always looking for leads, so it's important to know what other companies are being interviewed by your potential employer. This is especially important if you're a potential employee because it might give you an idea of what the company is like and what opportunities are available. However, sometimes interviewers might not ask about other companies specifically. That's why it's important to be able to answer the question "What other companies are you interviewing with?" without sounding ridiculous.
Here's a short paragraph that you can write in response to the above question: I'm interviewing with A, B, and C, but I don't know if they have any openings. E and F also interviewed me, but they didn't have any positions available.
You may say "I don't know" if you really don't know, but you can also try to sound like you're trying to find a job by testing out different companies. Be sure to say "I'm interviewing with A, B, and C" and not "I'm interviewing with ABC company". If possible, include the names of the companies you are interviewing with, as well as other companies that may be hiring.
Certain rules must be followed when applying for jobs at these organizations; therefore, an applicant needs to follow those rules in their cover letter and resume.
Whatever your personal experience might be, you need to make sure that your cover letters and job applications are up to par. However, if a potential employer wants to know something relevant to your job, then ask them.
Here are some examples: I work as a marketing specialist at ABC Corporation, where I've been working for the past seven years. My current position involves managing existing customers and prospects, increasing new customer acquisition, increasing product sales, and developing marketing strategies for products we sell. Products include ABC Corporation's coffee, vodka, and cheese products; coffee products made by ABC company A, those made by company B (which are much better than company A's), and so on. I also help out with ABC Corporation's marketing materials, and I do some photography.
